Portillo, South America's best-known ski resort, is set far above the timberline in a desolate moonlike landscape of rock and snow. Portillo's 9,600+ feet altitude assure dry powder snow and a crisp climate. Portillo is world renown for superb ski conditions and the legendary beauty of the Laguna de Inca Lake surrounded by some of the highest mountains in the hemisphere.

Portillo has a wide variety of slopes from the simplest beginner’s area to awe inspiring powder chutes. Top skiers take on Portillo's ultimate thrill: climbing into the wilds above the hotel and on a 30-degree face, making the legendary nine-mile run from the statue of the Christ of the Andes. Lifts start right from the hotel. Ski trails spread in all directions, with the highest of the nine lifts rising to 10,800 feet. Just put on your skis and go!
